Significant Mismanagement in the City Hall: 'Joghovurd'
'Joghovurd' newspaper reports that the State Supervisory Service has conducted audits of the activities of the Yerevan City Hall and discovered approximately 16 billion dram (about $40 million) in mismanagement and violations during the tenure of former mayor Hayk Marutyan.
According to the information from 'Joghovurd,' the State Supervisory Service is preparing to refer the case to the prosecutor's office for criminal legal assessment of the occurrences.
The fact that the city hall, both during Hayk Marutyan's time and today, operates in a disorganized manner where the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing has led to significant public dissatisfaction. Citizens have expressed their frustration with city employees, as responses to their letters take several months instead of the stipulated 10 days, which is evident.
Of course, the investigation will determine the extent of Hayk Marutyan's involvement in the significant misappropriations amounting to around 16 billion dram ($40 million).
It is worth noting that the current city hall is in nearly the same situation, and it will be interesting to see what the same State Supervisory Service will uncover about the activities of the current city administration in the years to come.
