Minister of Defense Invites Gegham Manukyan's Detained Son to Three-Month Gatherings
Member of the National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction, Gegham Manukyan, stated on his Facebook page: 'This is an issue that no longer recognizes the limits of morality, logic, or law. This government believes that the RA Armed Forces are a punitive institution, and that mobilization is not the duty and pride of Armenian citizens, but rather a place of isolation.'
'From the very first day, this government continues to hate the army, discredit heroes, and demoralize it. Over the past few days, notifications have been sent to dozens of opposition youths. I received a call from the military commissariat in the morning regarding my son. I explained that he is incarcerated. A few hours later, another lieutenant colonel called, came to the house to deliver my son's written notification. He himself was ashamed of what he was doing. I signed the notification, officially stating that Papikyan is not a Minister of Defense but rather a commissioner of the CP in the army, and the army is serving their power... This is how we experienced defeat; tolerating them leads the country to new defeats. When their end comes, we will not bring them into service, that would be an honor for them, they will simply answer for it, while the borders will be defended by the worthy.'
It is noteworthy that Gegham Manukyan’s son, Taron Manukyan, is detained in connection with the incident involving grandfathers from Gyumri.
