Investigator Questioned in Sale of Hovik Abrahamyan's Monument House at NSS

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that an investigator probing the dubious sale of former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan's mansion built in Monument has been questioned at the National Security Service (NSS). The investigator was removed from the case by the RA Prosecutor's Office.

According to sources, businessman Narek Nalbandian, who purchased the mansion, has already been questioned, as has the investigator from the Anti-Corruption Committee handling the case. However, former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and his son have yet to be interrogated.

Moreover, suspicions within law enforcement suggest that the investigation into Hovik Abrahamyan's mansion sale is stagnating at the NSS. There appears to be a lack of interest in advancing the case and revealing the mystery surrounding the sale of the seized mansion.

"Zhoghovurd" approached the Director of the NSS, Armen Abazyan, inquiring whether Narek Nalbandian, the buyer of the mansion, had been summoned to the NSS and what has been uncovered in the sale investigation, as well as what illegal activities the NSS has identified during this period and the current phase of the criminal case.

In response to the written inquiries, Lt. Col. L. Tatoyan, a senior investigator in the NSS's investigative department, stated, "I inform you that Narek Nalbandian has been summoned to the NSS investigative department and questioned regarding the criminal case mentioned in your inquiry." No further details were provided.

It appears that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's promise to recover assets of illegal origin and return them to the people has had an effect akin to a bubble left floating in the air.
