«I Don’t Know Where You Heard Such a Thing»: Vardanyan on Berdzor
During a press briefing with reporters, Vladimir Vardanyan, a member of the ruling 'Civil Contract' faction in the National Assembly, stated that as long as there is no summary for the half-year period, it is too early to address the issue of depriving opposition MPs of their mandates.
In response to remarks that the opposition regularly raises the matter of the handover of Berdzor, while the government avoids it by introducing a false agenda, the MP replied, “I absolutely will not respond to those statements; an attempt is being made to cover up any unlawful behavior with some emotional topic. In many cases, those emotional topics do not actually exist in reality.”
To the question of whether the pressing issue is the handover of Berdzor or the deprivation of mandates from the opposition, Vardanyan responded, “I don’t know where you heard such a thing and where this issue has arisen from. I am not prepared to answer that question right now. In general, we should refrain from publicly discussing questions that could jeopardize regional security.”
