Melina Wanted for Trafficking for 16 Years Returns to Armenia

A 50-year-old woman named Melina G., wanted on trafficking charges, has returned to Armenia from Turkey following explanatory work by law enforcement. This information has been reported by the press service of the Armenian Police.

Since October 3, 2006, she had been on the wanted list by the Sevan division of the police and the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Armenia. On June 29 of this year, Melina G. arrived at Zvartnots International Airport on a flight from Istanbul to Yerevan, where she was subsequently detained.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 132, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (human trafficking or exploitation). The measure chosen is detention.
