Anna Vardapetyan Receives Apartment as Gift
The newspaper "Joghavourd" reports that the issue of appointing the Prosecutor General was discussed in the parliament yesterday. As is known, the candidate from the "Civil Contract" faction is the Prime Minister’s assistant Anna Vardapetyan.
According to her declaration, Vardapetyan owns an apartment in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district which she received as a gift in 2014. The balance in her bank account amounts to 322,000 drams and 15 euros. She has declared income from salaries obtained from three sources; for instance, she received a total of 9,782,000 drams from the Ministry of Justice when she was a Deputy Minister, 1,124,000 drams from Yerevan State University, and 1,500 euros from the Council of Europe.
From one of the commercial banks, she has taken out a loan of approximately 1,550,000 drams. According to her 2020 annual declaration, her financial resources totaled 660,000 drams and 15 euros, while her cash amounted to 1.5 million drams.
In that year, Anna Vardapetyan earned salaries from four sources, including a total of 8,855,000 drams from the Office of the Prime Minister, 976,000 drams from Yerevan State University, 4,215 drams from the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University, and 164,000 drams from the "Dar" Regional Development and Competitiveness Foundation. Additionally, she received a gift amounting to 59,000 drams and received a loan of 750,000 drams from one of the banks.
According to her 2021 annual declaration, the balance in Vardapetyan’s bank account amounted to more than 210,000 drams and 15 euros. Her cash increased from 1,500,000 drams at the beginning of the year to 4,500,000 drams. In the previous year, she earned a monthly salary of 871,000 drams, along with 624,000 drams from YSU. She also received a loan of 3 million drams from one of the banks. As of December 31 of the previous year, the principal balance of her loan amounted to 1,216,000 drams.
Furthermore, it is notable that Vardapetyan submitted her expense declaration for 2021, where it is noted that she spent 3 million drams on the renovation of her apartment. Vardapetyan’s husband, Mamikon Gevorgyan, owns three apartments, all located in the Arabkir administrative district, which he acquired in 2007, 2011, and 2013. He also has a car, a 2007 model Mercedes, purchased in 2014. In 2021, his bank account balance consisted of 12,000 drams, 2,514 dollars, and 2,773 euros, with 4.5 million drams in cash.
It is also mentioned that Vardapetyan's husband received a salary totaling 3,553,000 drams from the aluminum foil manufacturer Rusal Armenia, and his received loan amounted to 51,000 drams. ArmLur.am learned that in 2017, Vardapetyan's husband sold an apartment for 15,360,000 drams.
