Aliyev: Armenia and Several Countries Want to Restore It, but It Is Impossible

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has stated that the attempts by Armenia and a number of countries to restore the OSCE Minsk Group are counterproductive and detrimental to the peace process in the South Caucasus. Aliyev made this announcement in Baku during the opening of a conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement.

“Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity through military-political means. There is no need for the OSCE Minsk Group; we have bid farewell to it. Armenia and several countries want to restore it, but that is impossible; it is dead,” he asserted.

Aliyev argued that any further discussions regarding the OSCE Minsk Group are not only counterproductive but also detrimental to the potential for peace in the region.

It should be noted that earlier, the U.S. State Department announced that it had discussed the future of Nagorno-Karabakh with its partners.
