US Bans Russian Gold Imports
The US has prohibited the import of Russian gold. This information was reported by РИА Новости, citing the US Department of the Treasury.
"The import of gold of Russian origin into the United States is banned, except in cases provided by law, or if there is a license issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury," the document states.
The ban does not apply to gold exported from the Russian Federation that is outside of Russia at the time the prohibition comes into force.
The US Department of the Treasury has issued a license for the gradual termination of contracts with the companies 'Severstal' and 'Nord Gold' for the purpose of conducting commercial transactions, fulfilling debt obligations, or transferring capital. Sanctions against these companies were imposed on June 2, 2022.
