Vagharchak Harutyunyan has even introduced a new position—a bodyguard-assistant, which is held by the ambassador's nephew. The bodyguards sit in the ambassador's reception area. It is said that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov has even noticed that of the 161 ambassadors operating in Moscow, Harutyunyan is the only one with a bodyguard.
