We need to see who employed the Prime Minister's son without formal registration – Pashinyan

My son has worked as a ceramic worker's assistant for the last 6 months, meaning he is a laborer. He is currently also an assistant to a mosaic master. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during an online press conference.

Pashinyan recounted that he asked his son, who is working as a laborer, whether he was formally registered as an employee. “I asked him whether he was registered as an employee, he left and ran out of the room, because he doesn’t know what to answer. Now, what, should we open a criminal case and see who employed the Prime Minister's son without formal registration? Now they are taking advantage of the opportunity, saying that they have neither seen nor heard, and they are not paying the salary,” he said half-jokingly.

He also responded to a question about his brother holding director positions in various companies. “If my brother were the director of ZPMC or a 12 percent shareholder, would that have been good? You wouldn’t have known, no one would have known. Now, working within the taxpayer system and receiving a salary is a problem, just as there is a problem that the shareholder of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine is the Republic of Armenia, not the brother of the Prime Minister or the head of the NSS. There are thousands of directors in Armenia, what makes my brother or the company he works for exceptional?” he said.
