Without the Right to Abortion: The US Supreme Court Overturns Abortion Ruling

The US Supreme Court has overturned the 1973 decision in the landmark case “Roe v. Wade,” which guaranteed the right to abortion at the federal level.

The US Senate blocked a bill aimed at enshrining the constitutional right to abortion in federal legislation. The women’s health bill was voted on by 49 senators in favor and 51 against. Republicans voted against it, as did Democratic Senator Joe Manchin from West Virginia.

US President Joe Biden commented on the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the ruling on the right to terminate a pregnancy, as reported by TASS. Biden stated, “The Court has taken away a woman’s constitutional right.” He added, “The Court is literally throwing America back 150 years.”

The President believes that this decision will result in the legislative branch, particularly the opposition Republican Party, losing support from their fellow citizens in the upcoming midterm elections in November. He has urged the US Congress to pass a federal law on the right to abortion.

Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump welcomed the Supreme Court's ruling, which overturns guarantees of rights related to abortions from the federal authorities, stating that it was accepted by God.
