Emergency Incident in Yerevan: Strong Wind Rips Off and Throws Citizen's Roof
Today, June 23, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 8:00 PM, due to strong winds, the roof of a house located on Azatamartikner Street, number 32, was ripped off and thrown away. According to Shamshyan.com, fortunately, there are no reported injuries.
The energy provider "Yereghlight" had cut off power to the electric poles under its control, but people were hesitant to approach the high-voltage damaged cables as they were not de-energized. In a conversation with a photojournalist, neighbors of the house, where a large family resides, mentioned, "The roof had just been renovated, and he didn’t get to finish it. The weather did its dark deed. Indeed, we, as friends and neighbors, will help in any way we can, but it would be great if the city hall and community council extended their hand in assistance. Our request is not excessive; we do not want money, just help with building materials, and we will renovate the roof together with friends."
