As we have already reported, a major and tragic car accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region on June 22. Shamshyan.com provides new details about the incident.

Around 02:10 AM, 29-year-old Torgom Nersisyan, a resident of Gavar, lost control of his Mercedes vehicle on the 3rd km section of the Sevan-Martuyni-Getap highway. The car veered off the road, collided with iron barriers, and overturned into the swampy waters of Lake Sevan.

After a challenging search operation, the bodies of Torgom Nersisyan and his passenger, 35-year-old Grisha Harutyunyan, also from Gavar, were recovered.

The vehicle was lifted from the swamp with the help of citizens using a crane and transported to the special storage area of the Sevan police department.
