‘Tzri Vardan’ Shot Dead: Action Movie-Like Gunfire in Tsaghkadzor

On July 10th, a shooting resembling a scene from an action movie and a murder occurred in the Kotayk province. Around 21:20, the Hrazdan Medical Center received a call reporting that a citizen with multiple gunshot wounds had been brought in dead.

According to shamshyan.com, police and investigators have established that the deceased was 48-year-old Vardan Arakelyan, a resident of the town of Tsaghkadzor.

Authorities have also determined that at approximately 20:50, an unidentified individual fired numerous shots from a firearm toward the VAZ 2121 vehicle belonging to 40-year-old Alik Vardanyan from Hrazdan City on Mayisyan Street in Tsaghkadzor. As a result, V. Arakelyan, a passenger in the vehicle, succumbed to his gunshot wounds at the scene.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated at the Kotayk Regional Investigative Division under Article 155, part 2, subparagraph 7, and Article 335, part 1, of the RA Criminal Code. According to reports from Shamshyan, the victim was well-known in Kotayk province as ‘Tzri Vardan.’
