General Officers Arrested in Azerbaijan

A number of high-ranking officials from the State Security Service of Azerbaijan have been arrested. According to information circulating in the Azerbaijani press, one of the arrested senior officials is Major General Ekhtiram Khalilov, who previously headed the "Azertarminalkomplex" unit of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, reports Hraparak.

Prior to this role, he held the position of head of the Main Customs Department dealing with excise duties. He has also led the Sumgayit Customs Department. In the coming days, it is likely that Azerbaijani authorities will provide more detailed information.
