Russia's Ambassador Banned from Entering the UK Parliament

The Russian ambassador to the UK, Andrei Kelin, will not be able to enter the British Parliament. The entrance to the building is closed to the ambassador. This was reported by Sky News on June 20, citing the reports from the speakers of both houses, the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

The report states that Andrei Kelin, as the officially accredited representative of the Russian government, will not be admitted to the parliamentary building “until further notice.” This measure also applies to other accredited Russian diplomats and officials.

The ban has been informally in place since February, according to Sky News, and it has only now been confirmed in writing.

It should be noted that following the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, many countries, particularly the USA, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland, and Estonia, began expelling Russian diplomats.
