National Security Service Investigations: 'Mkhitar Gosh' University Faked Foreign Student Tuition Data
The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia has uncovered a case of falsification of foreign student tuition data at the 'Mkhitar Gosh' Armenian-Russian International University as a result of operational and investigative measures conducted by its Yerevan city division. It has been determined that responsible officials at the university included clearly falsified data regarding the annual tuition fees of foreign students in official reports and other financial documents required for taxation. This resulted in an evasion of tax obligations totaling approximately 99,453,992 AMD in profit tax from 2018 to 2021.
The NSS reports that a criminal case has been initiated in the Armenian Criminal Code under Article 205, Part 2, and it has been forwarded for further investigation according to jurisdiction.
