Yerevan and Moscow Establish Center for Strategic Initiatives
Armenia and Russia are creating a joint center for strategic initiatives and development. This was reported by Sputnik Armenia, noting that the corresponding agreement was signed by Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyans and Russia's Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov during the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.
In an interview with the site, Kerobyans stated that the center will allow for the implementation of best methodologies in various sectors of Armenia's economy and will become a unique additional institution for the Ministry of Economy. Russian experts will transfer their experience in various areas, including tariff regulation, strategic sector development, and joint perception of issues based on digital and analytical data.
“Taking this opportunity, I want to thank Maxim Genadievich for doing everything to ensure the center starts operating and for giving us the opportunity to replicate Russian experience... We already know what we will start with, and I believe this is a very valuable document for us that will ensure good results for Armenia in the near future,” said the minister.
The center will be established within two months and is set to begin operations in 2023.
Within the framework of the forum, Kerobyans also signed a memorandum of cooperation focused on trade, economic, and tourism sectors with the Tyumen region, as well as a contract regarding the construction of a metro station (a project worth $30-40 million). This concerns the “Ajapnyak” metro station located on the right bank of the Hrazdan River.
