New Details on Russians Arrested Following Altercation with Armenian Youth
As previously reported, Russian citizen Tanya Shukina stated on her Twitter page that Armenian police, upon the request of Russian law enforcement, have detained her two friends and are demanding they disclose her whereabouts.
"If I am sent back to Russia, then imprisonment or death awaits me for making jokes about Putin, expressing anti-war positions, and cooperating with Alexei Navalny," wrote Tanya Shukina.
Auroranews.am contacted Vardan Tadevosyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, who provided some details. In particular, he noted that the Russians detained at the Erebuni police station are suspected of becoming involved in a dispute with an Armenian youth and causing him bodily harm. They are currently being questioned. Tadevosyan assured that there is no connection to Alexei Navalny in this case, and the incident occurred in Armenia.
Tadevosyan also mentioned that no one has requested information regarding Tanya Shukina's whereabouts from anyone.
