«Such a thing has not occurred»: Head of the Cadastre Committee on ceding territories in Syunik to the enemy
During a briefing with government officials, journalists questioned the head of the Cadastre Committee, Suren Tovmasyan, about the lack of changes to the law on state borders and the verbal understanding regarding ceding territories in Syunik to the enemy. In response, Tovmasyan stated: “I do not recall such a thing because such a thing has not occurred. As a specialist, I would advise everyone to try to remain in the field that will not create any problems for the Republic of Armenia. There is a commission in this regard that is very actively carrying out its work.”
When asked whether, as the head of the Cadastre Committee, he has the complete map of Armenia at his disposal and on what maps the negotiations with Azerbaijan are based, Tovmasyan replied: “We have the entire cadastral maps of Armenia, and as for the maps on which negotiations are being held, that falls not under the authority of the Cadastre Committee but within the framework of legal issues. Any problem must be resolved exclusively on legal grounds. The maps that have legal foundations will be the basis on which the Cadastre Committee will receive corresponding instructions and carry out the necessary work.”
