Russian Activist Alerts: 'By Order of the Russian Federation' Friends Arrested in Yerevan - What the Investigative Committee Says
Today, Russian activist Tatyana Shchukina, who is in Armenia, wrote on her Twitter account that the police in Yerevan have arrested her friends 'by order of Russia'. She stated: 'They are being held in the precinct and are being asked to provide my contact information and whereabouts. Their arrest is completely illegal.'
As part of a criminal case, two Russian citizens have been transferred to the Yerevan Police's Erebuni division. The information has been confirmed in an interview with Civilnet by the Police Information Department.
Vardan Tadevosyan, the press secretary of the Investigative Committee, informed the news agency that the Russian citizens have been summoned for questioning on suspicion of causing bodily harm. According to Tadevosyan, the Russian citizens currently do not have any status.
'They wanted a lawyer, which is provided,' said the spokesperson of the Investigative Committee. Tadevosyan assured that there are no political motives behind the action.
As an additional note, it's reported that Tatyana Shchukina left Russia due to her anti-war stance. Her posts have gained significant attention on social media.
