Johnny Depp to Stand in Court Again

American actor Johnny Depp, 59, will once again find himself in court. The reason is a lawsuit filed against Depp by a member of the film team for "City of Lies." Depp starred in the film back in 2017. According to Gregory Brooks, the manager of the film crew, the actor allegedly struck him in the chest twice and made several derogatory remarks towards him. The alleged victim also claimed that the actor mocked him, stating he would "offer $100,000 to hit Brooks." Brooks added that during the incident, he detected a strong smell of alcohol on Depp.

International news outlets reported that after the incident, Brooks was persuaded not to report it to the police and was subsequently removed from the project. However, in 2018, Brooks filed a lawsuit, claiming he suffered not only physical pain but also emotional distress. At that time, Depp asserted that he acted in self-defense, as the manager had made him feel unsafe on the set. The court session is scheduled for July 25. Depp will be represented by Camila Vasquez, who previously defended the actor's interests during his legal battles with ex-wife Amber Heard.
