How Many Russian Soldiers Are Involved in the War Against Ukraine

Russia has involved approximately 330,000 personnel in its large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. This was announced by the representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksiy Hromov, during a press briefing.

“The number of Russian Armed Forces groupings in various directions amounts to up to 150,000 soldiers, which are composed of battalion tactical groups and other formations. Considering the airborne and naval components, the total troop formations reach up to 220,000 soldiers,” Hromov said.

Additionally, the units and mobilization reserve units, which consist of more than 80,000 people, combat army systems of up to 7,000, the National Guard federal service of up to 18,000, as well as private military companies of up to 8,000 personnel were also mentioned.
