Under Which Conditions Will the Opposition Return to Parliament? Vardevanyan Responds
The opposition will return to the National Assembly exclusively on their own agenda. This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the "Resist" movement and a deputy from the "Armenia" faction, during a rally in Vardananyan's garden. Sputnik Armenia reports:
"You will see us in the National Assembly only on our agenda; it is impossible for us to be seen in the Parliament under the agenda of the ruling party," Vardevanyan said. "People probably thought that after taking down the tents, we would now appear in the Parliament wearing ties, discussing macroeconomic indicators."
According to him, the tent was one of the tools of the movement, just like the loudspeakers, and the tactics of the movement have not changed. Vardevanyan elaborated that to express no confidence in Prime Minister Pashinyan, his term must first reach one year, after which one-third of the MPs must submit a motion and nominate a candidate for Prime Minister. However, he noted that it is still too early to talk about this process, as there is much to be done before the end of his one-year term on August 2.
Vardevanyan added that they aim to achieve a "post-Nikol Armenia" situation through peaceful means.
It is noteworthy that the opposition has moved from the garden towards the Prosecutor's Office and is currently in front of the Prosecutor's Office.
