Rockfall Hits Car in Lori, One Injured

On June 15 at 17:41, the Lori regional crisis management center received a notification that a rock had fallen onto a car on the Alaverdi-Haghpat highway, near the beginning of Haghpat village, resulting in one injury.

A firefighting and rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that a rock weighing about 40 kg had rolled down from the right side of the 7th km of the Alaverdi-Akhtala highway and struck an 'Opel Astra' vehicle (driver: A.A.).

As a result of the incident, the passenger S.M. (born in 1955) sustained injuries. Before the arrival of the firefighters, the injured individual was hospitalized at the Alaverdi city medical center, where he received appropriate medical treatment and was later discharged.

Firefighters discovered two more rock fragments (about 40 kg each) in the area and removed them from the roadway.
