Has the Flag of Yeraskh Been Lowered After Pashinyan's Visit? The Mayor on the Spreading Rumor

Former Chief of Staff of the Constitutional Court Edgar Ghazaryan wrote on his Facebook page that allegedly after Nikol Pashinyan's visit, the tallest Armenian state flag installed in the Yeraskh community has been lowered.

“It turns out that after Nikol Pashinyan's visit, Yeraskh is almost ready to hand over to the enemy...” wrote the former official.

Auroranews.am traced the origins of the announcement. We contacted the head of the Yeraskh community, Radik Oghikyan. He affirmed that he personally lowered the tattered flag to replace it with a new one.

“Is a tattered flag suitable for us? I personally lowered it on June 13 and we are currently reinforcing the new one. A tattered flag is not suitable for us. I do not understand what they intend to achieve with such unfounded speculations,” said the mayor.

Regarding the claim about the flag's removal after Pashinyan's visit, he noted that the Prime Minister did not visit the Yeraskh community. We also note that Pashinyan visited the Ararat province on June 11.

Thus, Ghazaryan's assertions do not match reality. It is also worth mentioning that the flag in question was raised in the Yeraskh community on September 21, 2021, in connection with the 30th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia. It is the largest and tallest flag in the republic.
