Pope Francis: Today, a Third World War is Declared
Pope Francis has expressed his opinion that a Third World War has been declared in the world.
“A few years ago, it occurred to me to say that we are living through a Third World War in parts. Today, I believe that a Third World War has been declared,” stated the pontiff, as quoted by the La Stampa newspaper.
“This is something that should make us think. What is happening to humanity that has survived three world wars in one century... This is bad for humanity, it is a catastrophe,” said Pope Francis.
The leader of the Roman Catholic Church reminded that, aside from Ukraine, conflicts continue in other countries as well.
“Think of Africa, of northern Nigeria, of parts of northern Congo, where the war is still ongoing, and no one cares. Think of Rwanda 25 years ago. Think of Myanmar and the Rohingya. The world is at war,” said Pope Francis.
