Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Expresses Condolences on the Death of Rafael Kotanjian

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a condolence message regarding the death of Rafael Kotanjian, stating: “I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia, Rafael Kotanjian. Rafael Kotanjian was cherished and popular not only among the Armenian public but also among a broad audience abroad. His contribution to the development of Armenian theater and cinema is invaluable. He will always be remembered in our history for the roles he played in famous performances and films such as 'Forget Herostratus', 'The Naked King', 'The Great Silence', 'The Diamond Hand', 'Chaos', 'Men', 'Baghdasar Divorces His Wife', 'Foreign Games', 'The Voice of the Ancients', 'Joyful Journey', 'The Empire of the Pirates', and many others as an actor, intellectual, and beloved figure of the Armenian identity. I share the grief of the master’s family, colleagues, fans, and everyone at this time of great loss.
