Israel Calls on Citizens to Avoid Traveling to Turkey
Israel is urging its citizens to refrain from visiting Turkey unless absolutely necessary. According to RIA Novosti, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid announced this during a session of the Yesh Atid parliamentary faction.
“Due to the recent events in Turkey and several attempts of Iranian terrorism against Israelis who traveled to Istanbul, we urge Israelis not to go to Istanbul and, if you do not have an essential need, not to fly to Turkey at all. If you are already in Istanbul, return to Israel as quickly as possible,” said Lapid.
The foreign minister insists that terrorist operations have been prepared against vacationing Israelis. “This can happen to anyone. It is a real and immediate danger. If you have a flight planned to Istanbul, cancel it. No vacation is worth your life or the lives of your loved ones. We are constantly updating the instructions in line with the assessment of the situation,” the minister stated.
