Earthquake in Van: Tremors Felt in Yerevan as Well
On June 12, at 22:35 local time (18:35 GMT), the seismic network of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia recorded an earthquake at geographical coordinates 38.72° North latitude and 43.56° East longitude, located 30 km northeast of Van city in Turkey, at a depth of 10 km, with a magnitude of 5.0. This information was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.
The intensity of the underground shock in the epicentral zone was measured at 6-7 degrees. The earthquake was felt in Yerevan and the Ararat region with an intensity of 2-3 degrees.
