VIDEO. "Provocative actions were carried out on the personal order of Pashinyan": Vardevanyan in front of the EU office
Opposition members are staging a protest in front of the EU office in Armenia. They demand an adequate assessment from the EU ambassador regarding the disproportionate use of force by law enforcement during anti-government demonstrations. They chant "Shame, Europe!"
Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, considers the EU's silence unacceptable.
"This very embassy made multiple statements a day if someone's hair was ruffled in 2018, but now it is silent and by that silence encourages police brutality," he noted.
Vardevanyan referred to recent incidents where police used flashbang grenades and disproportionate force against participants of a peaceful gathering. He stated that not only the protesters were harmed but also many police officers, who were injured due to the improper use of special means, with some of the equipment being outdated.
Media operations were also obstructed, with the property of one operator damaged, who also sustained injuries.
"Brutal and provocative actions against participants of peaceful gatherings were carried out personally on the order of Nikol Pashinyan," he said. Details in the video.
