Video: Attack with Hammers, Metal Rods, and Bottles; Criminal Case Initiated Over June 3 Unrest

In the intersection of Demirchyan and Proshyan streets in Yerevan, a criminal case has been opened on June 3 regarding mass unrest, with necessary investigative and procedural actions carried out on the same day by the Investigative Committee's Department for Particularly Important Cases.

The police report that during the gathering, organized and directed by the leaders of the 'Resistance' movement, participants attempted to break through the police cordon located at the intersection of Proshyan and Demirchyan streets. Subsequently, the participants of the gathering, disobeying the lawful demands of the police maintaining public order, began to engage in mass unrest.

In particular, they attacked the police with stones, metal rods, bottles, and other objects, exercising violence against them. In this way, they attempted to breach the police cordon, endangering public safety. The actions of the participants in the mass unrest were halted and thwarted. During this incident, more than forty police officers sustained injuries, and some of the injured are receiving inpatient treatment.

During the site inspection, numerous stones, metal and wooden rods, glass and plastic bottles, torn pieces of police uniform, removed epaulets, and other items and objects were discovered.

As of June 4 at 16:00, 13 individuals have been detained as part of the criminal case. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
