Saghatelyan on His and the Dashnaktsutyun's Role During the 44-Day War
“What Dashnaktsutyun did during the 44-day war and what role I had during those days, they have done 1% of it with their entire government and faction. I usually try not to comment on statements of this caliber,” said Ishkhan Saghatelyan, one of the opposition leaders, to journalists at France Square.
It is worth noting that Vahan Kerobyan, the Minister of Economy of Armenia, questioned where Ishkhan Saghatelyan was during the 44-day war.
Speaking about the work and composition of the delimitation and demarcation commission, Saghatelyan said, “Interestingly, there are no representatives from the ruling party in the commission. Whatever this commission will do, it will not lead to a good place. The work of this commission should be halted as long as enemy troops are on the sovereign territory of Armenia.”
In response to a question regarding reports that the president of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, and Nikol Pashinyan met today, Saghatelyan noted that the president of Artsakh can meet with Pashinyan on one agenda: the defense agenda of Artsakh. “If Araik Harutyunyan has the courage to defend the people of Artsakh, he should clearly convey to Pashinyan that you do not have the mandate to concede more territory, you have no right to make a statement whereby Artsakh could remain part of Azerbaijan; if he is going to talk about this, it is better, but to be honest, I have no hope,” Saghatelyan said.
