Artur Bazeyan Becomes Vice Champion, Loses in Final Match

Artur Bazeyan was crowned vice champion at the European Boxing Championships concluding in Yerevan. In the final match of the 57 kg category, the Under-23 European Champion faced Belgium's Vasil Usturian and suffered a defeat.

Today, the championship title will also be contested by 63.5 kg weight class fighter Hovhannes Bachkov, whose opponent is France's Lunes Amraoui, and 86 kg fighter Rafael Hovhannisyan, going up against Georgian Giorgi Kushinashvili. Narek Manasyan will receive a bronze medal in the 92 kg weight category. It is noteworthy that he lost in yesterday's semi-final but did not concede defeat.

The Armenian Boxing Federation reports that although they made every effort to have the decision reconsidered, according to the rules of the European International Federation, the referee's decisions in this championship are not subject to change.

The opening ceremony of the European Boxing Championships took place on May 22 at the Karen Demirchyan Sports Complex in Yerevan. More than 200 athletes representing 39 countries are participating in the championship. The total prize fund of the European Championship stands at $260,000.
