Investigation into Criminal Case Against Khachatryan Sisters' Father Concluded

The Investigative Committee of Russia has concluded the investigation into the case against Mikhail Khachatryan, who was killed by his daughters in 2018. The case was initiated based on accusations of sexual violence against the daughters. This was reported by TASS, citing sources from law enforcement agencies.

It is noted that the charges have been intensified with the discovery of new evidence, according to which Mikhail Khachatryan distributed pornographic material involving his daughters. "With the final amendments, charges have been brought against Mikhail Khachatryan's defenders within the framework of the criminal case regarding sexual violence. The investigation revealed the fact that the defendant distributed pornographic materials involving his daughters, of which his attorneys were informed," an agency source stated.

According to the source, the Khachatryan sisters' lawyers have already reviewed the case materials. Once the defendant's defense team also studies them, the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office for the confirmation of the indictment, after which it will be sent to the Butyrsky district court in Moscow.

It should be recalled that the three sisters were arrested on charges of murder against their father. The actions of the older sisters, Kristina and Angelina, were classified as premeditated murder by prior agreement. The case of their sister Maria was considered separately, as she was a minor at the time of the murder. Later, she was declared insane.

In December 2020, the Basmanny Court had mandated the Investigative Committee to initiate a criminal case against Mikhail Khachatryan. Subsequently, an examination confirmed that Khachatryan exhibited harsh behavior and committed sexual violence against his daughters.
