Turkey's Foreign Ministry: 'Our Position is Clear' Regarding Finland and Sweden
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated during a press conference in Istanbul, following a meeting of the foreign ministers of Turkey, Poland, and Romania, that Finland and Sweden must cease their support for terrorist organizations in order to join NATO. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“We understand that these two countries (Finland and Sweden) have concerns regarding their security, but our position is clear: these countries must stop supporting terrorist organizations,” emphasized Cavusoglu.
Earlier in the same press conference, OSCE Chair Zbigniew Rau mentioned that Finland and Sweden's accession to NATO will happen soon. He noted that the interests of all alliance member countries, including Turkey, must be preserved simultaneously.
