‘The people of Meghri know best why Meghri still has no gas’: Sanosyan
By autumn, the residents of Meghri, Agarak, and Lehvaz will have gas. This announcement was made by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, during a Q&A session with the government.
“The people of Meghri know best why Meghri still has no gas. In 2017, Meghri was 90% and Agarak 10% gasified, meaning the network was laid out, but it was not connected. In 2018, the mayor of Meghri wrote a letter to Gazprom assuring that apparatuses known as aerial well devices would be installed, which would allow them to connect the gas. However, the community has not fulfilled that obligation up to now,” said Sanosyan.
According to him, the government has also implemented a program worth 280 million drams with the support of the “Territorial Development Fund,” and the 2021 program has been completed. Sanosyan noted that during the upcoming session of the government, that system will be handed over to Gazprom, and after several months of work, Meghri will have gas.
