30 and 29-Year-Old Men Assault 54-Year-Old with Knife and Stone
The Investigative Committee of Armenia is conducting investigative and procedural actions to clarify all circumstances of hooliganism involving the use of a weapon, as reported by the Committee.
According to preliminary data, on May 15, 2022, around 18:00, two residents aged 30 and 29 from the village of Kutakan, under the influence of alcohol, got into a dispute with residents of the village of Great Masrik. They rudely reprimanded them, and afterwards, noticing a 54-year-old resident of the same village looking at them, they engaged in a fight, intending to assert their presumed superiority.
In a group, they grossly violated public order, insulted him, and assaulted him with a knife and a stone, causing bodily injuries to his chest, abdomen, and head.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 4 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The residents of Kutakan have been arrested on suspicion of hooliganism involving the use of weapons and have been interrogated about the circumstances of the incident.
The crime scene has been examined, witnesses have been interrogated, and forensic examinations have been appointed to determine essential circumstances of the case, including forensic and biological analyses, as well as a forensic medical examination to ascertain the nature and severity of the victim's injuries and the mechanism of their occurrence.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken to ensure an objective and comprehensive investigation of the case and to verify the circumstances indicated in the testimonies.
