Pashinyan Has Phone Conversation with U.S. Secretary of State
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has had a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. This has been reported by the Government of Armenia.
The Secretary of State praised the Armenian government's efforts to establish peace and stability in the region, as well as the ongoing democratic reforms in Armenia.
During the conversation, the two officials exchanged thoughts on the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the opening of regional communications, and regional security issues.
Prime Minister Pashinyan shared his impressions of the trilateral meeting that took place in Brussels on May 22, emphasizing that although he generally views the meeting positively, unfortunate comments unrelated to the discussions have emerged afterwards.
The Secretary of State reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to continue supporting Armenia's democratic reforms, the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the demarcation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan borders, the opening of regional communications, and the establishment of regional stability.
The conversation also touched upon the ongoing discussions between Armenia and Turkey at the level of special representatives. The two officials agreed to continue high-level communications between Armenia and the U.S.
