Pedestrian Accident in Ararat Region: Two Cyclists Injured
Today, on May 22, an accident occurred in the Ararat region. Around 09:20, a 31-year-old resident of the Ararat region, Tsolak E., struck two cyclists with his Mercedes vehicle on the 18th kilometer of the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene and called the 'Masis' medical center, from where an emergency medical team rapidly arrived. They provided initial medical assistance on-site before transporting the injured to the 'Erebuni' medical center.
Quickly arriving at the scene were officers from the second battalion of the traffic police, led by battalion commander Grigor Poghosyan and squad commander Karapet Harutyunyan.
The inspectors of the same squad, Tigran Sardarjan and Aram Sukiasyan, were on enhanced duty to ensure that curious drivers did not park their vehicles and that there were no traffic jams.
The on-site investigation was led by senior investigator Hayk Mezojan, who is preparing materials regarding the incident. The police are working to identify the injured cyclists.
