Shoigu Announces Response Prepared for NATO Expansion
In response to Sweden and Finland's move to join the NATO military alliance, Moscow will establish 12 new military formations and units in the Western Military District by the end of the year. This announcement was made by Russia's Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.
“Tensions continue to rise in the area of responsibility of the Western Military District. We are taking adequate countermeasures,” stated Shoigu.
It is noteworthy that Sweden and Finland have officially applied to NATO to become members of the alliance.
