Russian Soldiers Transferred from Syria to Ukraine: Abdullah II

The King of Jordan, Abdullah II, speaking at Stanford University, stated that Iran is filling the vacuum left by Russia in Syria. This was the first official confirmation regarding the transfer of Russian military personnel from Syria to Ukraine. "We want everyone to become part of a new, progressive Middle East, but it is not an easy process. We have to deal with regular attacks along the border, and we know who is behind them," said the Hashemite monarch, as reported by Vzglyad.az referring to Israeli media.

According to him, Russia's presence in southern Syria was a stabilizing factor, but the situation began to worsen with the arrival of Iran. "Unfortunately, we can see the escalation of the situation," Abdullah's words were quoted by The Jerusalem Post.

It is noteworthy that Israel also considers the Russian military presence in Syria to be a stabilizing factor that can deter Iran. At the same time, Russia has repeatedly threatened to limit Israel's freedom of action in Syria. Israeli media reported that on May 13, during an attack against the Israeli Defense Forces' air force, Russian anti-aircraft systems were used.
