Protests Erupt in Sri Lanka as Essentials Run Out

Protests in Sri Lanka have escalated into clashes with police. Earlier, the government declared a state of default.

The country is suffering from shortages of gasoline, food, and essential goods. In April, inflation soared to 29.8% and is projected to reach up to 40% in the coming months.
