Japan to Propose Next G7 Summit Be Held in Hiroshima
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is expected to announce during a meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden the desire to host the next Group of Seven (G7) summit in Hiroshima next year, Kyodo reports, citing government sources.
According to those sources, the Japanese leader is expected to explain the significance of holding the summit in Hiroshima and seek support from the U.S. leader during his visit to Japan, which will take place from Sunday through Tuesday. A high-level meeting between Kishida and Biden is scheduled for Monday.
