After Pashinyan's Speech, Azerbaijan Found Itself in Diplomatic Isolation: Eduard Aghajanian

The Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated in Brussels that Azerbaijan has not yet accepted Armenia's proposal to include the status and security of Nagorno-Karabakh in the agenda for normalizing relations, although he believes it is too early to consider the matter closed. This is reported by Factor.am.

“So far, we have not received a positive response from Azerbaijan to these proposals, but efforts are being made to facilitate possible negotiations,” said the Armenian Foreign Ministry.

Has Baku rejected or simply not yet accepted Armenia's proposed six points?

In an interview with Factor TV, Eduard Aghajanian, head of the Armenian National Assembly's Foreign Relations Committee, noted, “The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister recently referred to the six points proposed by Armenia, describing the response and evaluation as strange. I believe it is the evaluation of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister that is strange because the title of our proposal was 'Response Proposals to Azerbaijan's Points'. It is unclear what surprised the Azerbaijani minister.”

Azerbaijan is not being constructive. Following the Prime Minister's well-known speech, Azerbaijan found itself in diplomatic isolation, as all international partners, both states and organizations, fully understand and share our views and are sending us signals that what Azerbaijan is doing and how it is behaving is unacceptable and incomprehensible. This cannot fail to impact the ongoing process and its outcomes. We are witnessing this now and will continue to see it in the future as well.”
