Azerbaijani Prime Minister Outlines Expectations from Armenia
Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov has noted the lack of progress in unblocking economic and transport links between his country and Armenia, according to minval.az.
“Despite ongoing meetings within the framework of the trilateral working group (at the level of Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan), there has been no progress in unblocking economic and transport links in the region, as stipulated in paragraph 9 of the trilateral statement,” he stated while addressing a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of CIS countries.
Asadov emphasized that Azerbaijan expects Armenia to fully fulfill the obligations undertaken by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia under the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020.
He specifically expressed concern regarding the incomplete implementation of paragraph 4 of the trilateral statement, which calls for the withdrawal of Armenian armed formations from Azerbaijani territory.
The Azerbaijani Prime Minister added that Baku expects “serious progress” in the near future on both issues and considers it necessary to take steps in that direction.
