We All Have a Common Goal: Russia Must Not Win This War – Scholz
Russian President Vladimir Putin will be willing to discuss peace only when he realizes that he cannot break Ukraine's defense. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in an interview with Zeit.de.
At the same time, according to Scholz, Germany will not take steps that would make NATO a fighting party in this war but will continue to provide weapons to Ukraine. He also added that “NATO has never been this united.”
“We all have a common goal: Russia must not win this war, Ukraine must survive,” Scholz said.
“Putin still believes he can impose a dictated peace, but he is mistaken. There will be no dictated peace, as neither the Ukrainians nor we will accept it. Only when the President of Russia realizes that he cannot break Ukraine’s defense can there be peace... This is why we support Ukraine,” Scholz concluded.
