Russian Ministry of Defense on Z and V Symbols

Z and V letters are not official military symbols, said Moscow City Duma member Evgeny Stupin, citing a response from the Russian Ministry of Defense to his inquiry.

“Z and V letters are not official military symbols and have no special significance. This was stated in response to my inquiry from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation,” the member wrote on his Telegram channel.

It is noteworthy that the Latin letters Z and V, which initially appeared on Russian military equipment involved in the military operation in Ukraine, have recently become quite common symbols supporting Russian President Vladimir Putin and the actions of the Russian military.
