“Let Garik Go, We Are All Garik”: Parents of Fallen Soldiers Protest Outside Investigative Committee
There is a tense situation outside the Investigative Committee as the parents of fallen soldiers are staging a protest.
“Let Garik go, we are all Garik,” said the participants of the protest, calling for the release of Mikitar Galeyan’s father, Garik Galeyan, who was arrested this morning. “If you don’t release Garik in one hour, Nikol, you will not be able to cope,” declared one parent.
Another parent stated that they should let Garik Galeyan go; otherwise, they would not be responsible for the consequences. Karine Tonoyan also told reporters that if Garik Galeyan is not released within one hour, they will enter the Investigative Committee.
“Don’t think for a moment that we will retreat,” said Tonoyan.
Recall that yesterday, around 14:05, a group of individuals illegally entered the territory of Military Unit N, ignoring the legal demands of the unit's commander to leave the area, and verbally abused, pulled, and physically assaulted him by striking his face with a plastic bottle. According to the Investigative Committee, the identities of three individuals who committed the violence and inflicted serious harm have been established; they are brothers Garik and Artur Galeyan, as well as a civilian named Azgush Martirosyan.
This morning, the mother of Mikitar Galeyan, who was killed in the 2020 44-day war, reported that military police had taken Graik Galeyan, Mikitar's father.
