Prosecutor’s Office Issues Clarification
Several media outlets have published information under the headline “The Prosecutor Has Ordered Actions to Be Taken Towards the Arrest of Pashinyan,” which has led to certain misinterpretations. The Republic of Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has made a statement regarding this matter.
The statement also mentions: “The Prosecutor General’s Office finds it necessary to clarify that the contested petition has been partially approved by the prosecutor overseeing the legality of the pre-investigation into the criminal case. Specifically, the petition has been granted in terms of providing instructions for a full, objective, and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances stated in the petition, while the request for the arrest of Nikol Pashinyan has been denied on the grounds that the factual data regarding the alleged crime committed by Nikol Pashinyan, as presented by the authors of the petition, is based on circumstances that are still subject to verification within the criminal case.
And exactly for the purpose of clarifying circumstances that are significant for the criminal case, necessary actions have already been undertaken within the framework of the oversight of the pre-trial proceedings to ensure the implementation of relevant prosecutorial measures.
